FILM REVIEW: Spiderman 2
Spiderman 2 was a thousand times better than Spiderman 1. I hated Spiderman 1 because of all the unnecessary graphic violence. I hate violence, especially in a movie theater full of kids. Parents will let their kids will see Spiderman no matter what the rating because of all the lame marketing & toys. Anyway, much of the time the director of Spidey 2 purposely did not show the violent parts--he would show people's reactions to violence instead of blood gushing everywhere. And there were consequences to the violence--Spidey was knocked unconscious more than once, his suit got torn and burned, he had abrasions and cuts. In general, the film was much more human than the first one and focused a lot on Spidey's personal and emotional turmoil, and less on lame fight scenes. My favorite scene was when Peter Parker is trying to get back into the Spidey Spirit & runs really fast off the roof of a building while making the most grotesque faces. He was making strained faces like he was pushing out a baby--and his face was 20 feet tall and so ugly--what actor would let a director get away with that?
Recommended.
